Olha Skyba has over seven years of experience directing and managing programs at the Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth (WCATY), University of Wisconsin - Madison. She worked with over 200 WCATY teachers guiding the process of curriculum development as well as overseeing program evaluation and student assessment. She holds Master of Science in Educational Psychology with focus in Gifted Education from Purdue University as well as graduate level coursework in Curriculum and Instruction and Gifted Education from the University of Kansas. She is a former teacher of English and Spanish languages with degree in Linguistics from Kiev State Linguistic University, Ukraine. Throughout her career, she has taught courses for Education majors in traditional as well as online settings, designed and coordinated program evaluation projects, and supervised student teachers.

Rebecca Vonesh

Rebecca, Program Director of the Academy, has dabbled in the details of classroom culture in a variety of school settings and is a DPI Certified instructor who has taught literature, English, history, debate, theater and an art class. Her experience in the classroom complements the thematic approach that WCATY uses throughout the Academy. Years of working with and exploring the boundaries of online communication , also enables Rebecca to assist the wonderful WCATY instructors as they build a truly unique web community.

Bethany Stoppel

Ms. Stoppel is an experienced DPI Certified educator with a background in social studies education. She has a strong interest in history and challenging students to explore the past to help make decisions that inform the future. As a former online high school social studies teacher she is familiar with engaging students in the online learning platform. She is excited to develop and support the interactive social and flexible blended learning opportunity that WCATY provides to advanced learners.

Katie Effertz

Katie graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in Spanish with a minor in Psychology. While there, she developed a passion for working in Student Affairs and chose to continue developing that passion through earning a Master`s degree in College Student Personnel at Western Illinois University. While there, she worked with both study abroad and outreach programs. At WCATY, Katie organizes and runs the ALP and STEP camps. As a seven-year WCATY alum and prior WCATY Residential Assistant, Katie loves having the opportunity to provide an engaging and supportive community for WCATY kids to develop and enhance their own passion!

Denise Ksioszk

Denise brings her varied experience in the field of education to WCATY having previously worked as a Montessori school administrator in research and as a reading interventionist. She has a Bachelorís degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a Master in Education in Educational Leadership from DePaul University. Denise will be working with the GEM and PACE programs and hopes to share her passion for educating the whole child with the WCATY community. Her areas of interest in education include literacy parental involvement and educating students in underserved communities.

Annalee Good

Annalee Good is WCATY`s research coordinator, as well as an associate researcher at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research at UW-Madison. A former middle school social studies teacher, she earned her doctorate in Educational Policy Studies from UW-Madison in 2011. She also teaches in WCATY`s online Academy and blogs regularly for ``Curious Minds``.
